How to Remove a Tripod from a 360° Photo
Follow these simple steps to create a flawless virtual tour:
1. Load Your 360° Image
Click "Load 360° Image" to open your equirectangular .JPG or .PNG file. The app will automatically focus on the bottom view (Nadir).
2. Sample a Clean Area
Select the 🎯 Sample Source tool. Click on a clean part of the ground (e.g., grass or pavement) near the tripod. This tells the brush what texture to copy.
3. Paint Over the Tripod
Select the 🖌️ Clone Brush.
-
Adjust the Size slider to cover the tripod legs.
-
Set Hardness to around 0.8 for a clean but slightly soft edge.
-
Click and drag over the tripod to paint it away.
4. Blend the Edges
If the patch looks obvious, switch to the 💧 Blur / Blend tool.
-
Lower the Hardness to 0.0.
-
Gently paint over the edges of your patch to blend the texture with the surrounding floor.
5. Download
Click "Download Result". Your image is saved as a high-quality JPEG, ready to be uploaded to Google Street View, Zillow, or your virtual tour software.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the "Nadir"? The Nadir is the point directly below the camera in a 360° spherical image. Because tripods stand here, it is usually the hardest part of the photo to edit due to spherical distortion. AuraFix solves this by "unwrapping" that specific point.
Can I use this to remove shadows? Yes! You can use the Clone Brush to paint over the photographer's shadow or the tripod shadow just as easily as the tripod itself.
Does this reduce image quality? AuraFix exports at 95% JPEG quality to maintain high resolution. We use advanced sampling to ensure your image stays sharp.
Is it mobile-friendly? Yes. You can use AuraFix on an iPad or tablet to edit photos while on a shoot.
